Golddafeng 13kg Wheat Combine Harvester Shipped to Uganda

The first batch of Golddafeng 4LZ-13 13kg/s grain combine harvesters has left the factory in Shandong, China, en route to our authorized distributor in Uganda. This shipment marks the official entry of Golddafeng's large-feed-rate flagship model into the East African market, bringing high-capacity wheat harvesting capability to local large farms and contract harvesting operators.

After months of field validation in Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the 13kg platform is now adapted for East African growing conditions — with heavy-duty 4WD, large-diameter lug tires and multi-crop capability built in as standard. Units are expected to arrive in Mombasa port within 4 weeks, with dealer pre-delivery inspection and operator training already scheduled.

Why a 13kg/s combine for Uganda farms?

Wheat farming in Uganda and neighboring East African countries has been scaling up fast. Small 5-6kg/s machines that worked for smallholder plots simply cannot keep up with 500+ hectare commercial operations, especially when the rainy season leaves a narrow harvest window. Every day of delay means sprouting, lodging and lost yield.

The Golddafeng 13kg combine cuts at a 5.4-meter header width and processes 13 kilograms of crop per second. In real Ugandan field conditions (3.5–4 t/ha wheat yield), that translates to 35–40 mu (2.3–2.7 hectares) per hour — roughly 3x the output of a conventional 5kg/s machine. A single unit can cover 200+ hectares in a normal 10-hour harvest day.

Power comes from a Yuchai 260HP Tier 4 engine with four selectable power modes (260/240/220/160 HP). Operators dial up full power for heavy, high-yield standing crop, and drop to lower modes for lighter crop or road transport. Real-world fuel consumption comes in at under 35 liters per hectare, which is among the best in this size class — a major cost factor when diesel runs $1.20+ per liter in East Africa.

Built for African field conditions

Anyone who has harvested in East Africa knows it is not the same as Western Europe or North America. Fields are often rough, soils vary from heavy black cotton to sand, and you cannot afford to get stuck in wet ground after an afternoon shower.

For this Uganda shipment we made several field-driven changes:

  • 4WD as standard — not an optional extra. Front hydrostatic drive plus a reinforced Luoyang Kaichuang rear axle pulls through mud and sand that 2WD competitors cannot handle.
  • Oversize 28L-26 deep-lug Xuzhou tires on all four corners for flotation in soft ground.
  • 3-meter extended longitudinal axial-flow threshing drum — 1 meter longer than standard — for more complete threshing of tough, high-moisture African wheat without cracking grain.
  • Reversing feeder house — if the header plugs in green or weedy crop, the operator can reverse it from the cab instead of climbing out to clear by hand.
  • 10 m³ grain tank means fewer stops to unload. In a 200-hectare block, that saves over an hour per day of just waiting on trucks.

One feature distributors consistently highlight is multi-crop flexibility. With a header change and drum speed adjustment (300–1100 RPM adjustable from the cab), the same machine handles wheat, rice, soybeans, corn, sorghum and millet. For operators who run custom harvesting across multiple regions and seasons, that turns one machine into a year-round revenue generator instead of a single-season tool.

Quality control: what goes into every unit

We do not ship a combine straight off the assembly line. Every 4LZ-13 goes through two stages of testing before it leaves the factory:

  1. Bench testing of all hydraulic, electrical and drive systems under load for 4+ hours.
  1. Field testing on Golddafeng's own test farm, running the machine in actual crop for a full 8-hour shift to check for leaks, vibration, threshing performance and grain loss.

Key components are sourced from established suppliers with proven track records: Peer (USA) spherical bearings throughout the drive train, Hei-Yi toothed drive belts, Jiangling 1000-series front axle. Wear parts are common across Golddafeng's global platform, meaning replacement parts are not special-order items — they are the same parts used on thousands of machines already running in Russia and Central Asia.

After-sales support for Uganda customers

A combine is only as good as the support behind it. For the Uganda market, Golddafeng and our local distributor have put the following in place before the machines even arrive:

  • Two Golddafeng factory technicians spent one week on-site in Kampala last month, training distributor service staff on maintenance, diagnostics and common repairs.
  • A container of common wear parts (knives, belts, filters, concave sections, auger fingers) shipped alongside the combines — no 6-week wait for parts during harvest.
  • Dedicated WeChat / WhatsApp support group with 24-hour response time from factory engineers. Customers can send a short video of the issue and get troubleshooting guidance the same day.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can this combine handle both wheat and corn in Uganda?
Yes. The 4LZ-13 comes set up for wheat/rice/soybean from the factory. Adding a 6-row corn header and adjusting concave clearance and drum speed lets it harvest shelled corn directly. Many of our Russian customers run the same machine on wheat in summer and corn in fall.

Q: What is the working speed in real wheat conditions?
In 3.5–4 t/ha wheat, operators typically run 4–6 km/h in 2nd or 3rd gear, which works out to 2.3–2.7 hectares (35–40 mu) per hour. In lighter crop you can go faster; in heavy, lodged crop you slow down.

Q: Are spare parts available locally in East Africa?
Yes. Our Uganda distributor stocks all normal wear parts. Major components ship from China within 72 hours via air freight if needed. Most parts are also interchangeable with other Golddafeng models already operating in the region.

Q: Does it come with operator training?
Yes. Distributor staff are factory-trained, and they provide on-site operator training at delivery. Golddafeng technicians can also be deployed to the customer's farm for the first week of harvest if requested.
