4. You’re Feeding It Too Fast
Look, we’ve all been there—you’re trying to finish the last 40 acres before dark, so you drop the header and open ’er up. But elevators have a fixed capacity. Shove more ears at them than they can carry, and the chain either bogs down or the flights start plowing through a wall of corn instead of scooping it cleanly.
Same thing if you’re running at low RPM. The engine needs to be at full throttle for the elevator to run at its designed speed. Lugging along at half throttle means the chain is moving too slow to clear the incoming volume.
